Statement Background

Regarding the article titled "The High-Seas Black Market That Keeps Iran's Illicit Oil Flowing" published by The Wall Street Journal on May 27, 2026, which falsely alleged that our Company provided full crewing and ship management services for the vessel MV “HANSON” (formerly “SEASKY”), we hereby issue this formal statement to clarify all facts and safeguard our legitimate rights and corporate reputation:

  1. Fact Clarification

(1) Complete Absence of Business Relationship:
Taihua Ship Management Limited (Hong Kong, hereinafter referred to as "our Company") has never established any ship management relationship or business cooperation with MV “HANSON” (formerly “SEASKY”). Our Company has never rendered any services to the subject vessel, including seaman dispatch, crew manning, vessel operation, technical management, marine safety, or engineering support. No written contracts, commercial agreements, or business records exist between our Company and the subject vessel or its operators.

(2) Strict Adherence to Global Sanctions Compliance:
Our Company has established a comprehensive and rigorous global sanctions compliance screening system. We conduct end-to-end sanctions list verification for all cooperating shipowners, vessels, ultimate beneficial owners , cargoes, and trading activities, and strictly comply with international sanctions laws and regulations enforced by the United Nations, China, and relevant jurisdictions. We have never provided any supporting services to any vessels sanctioned by the United Nations or subject to unilateral sanctions by the United States.

(3) Unfounded Allegations & False Reporting:
The allegation in The Wall Street Journal claiming that our Company acted as the staffing agency for MV “HANSON” is completely groundless, false, and misleading. This defamatory report severely distorts our business operations, maliciously damages our commercial reputation and industry goodwill, and has caused significant adverse impacts on our relationships with global clients, banking institutions, and business partners.

  1. Official Stance & Legal Rights Reservation

(1) Demand for Immediate Retraction & Public Apology:
We demand that The Wall Street Journal and the article's authors immediately cease the dissemination of this false report, and publish a public retraction and apology statement of equal prominence and across identical distribution channels within three business days to eliminate all negative impacts caused by the misinformation.

(2) Full Reservation of Legal Rights & Remedies:
Our Company has fully preserved all evidence regarding this false reporting, including original article archives, web pages, circulation records, and proof of commercial damages incurred. We formally reserve all legal rights to pursue full civil compensation against The Wall Street Journal and the authors involved for defamation and trade libel, including but not limited to issuing formal legal demand letters, initiating cross-border civil litigation, and claiming compensation for reputational damages and all reasonable legal costs incurred.

(3) Circulation to Stakeholders:
We will concurrently circulate this official clarification statement to all cooperating shipowners, financial institutions, and business partners to disclose the complete truth and dispel any concerns arising from the false report.

  1. Supplementary Note & Official Compliance Contact

Our Company consistently adheres to the baseline of compliant operations, carrying out routine international sanctions compliance audits across all business lines.
